january twenty third : today i had a lot to do. i woke up and worked on my school work, which seems to be what takes up a majority of my time now a days. i had therapy in the late afternoon and we talked a lot about what it means to be a functioning adult in society, and why i feel like i am not making a big enough impact on the world. i hate feeling so small all the time. im working on it, i guess. after that i went the library to study with this guy i have been talking to. he is definitely the most confusing guy i have ever met. definitely not setting myself up for success with this one.
january twenty fourth: forgot about my doctors appointment this morning. im pretty sure they are still going to charge me for the visit. dont know for sure though. my little sister had a half day at school so when she got home she came with me to my sociological imagination class. she was not impressed.
we went grocery shopping today! i hate grocery shopping at that location because there is a cash register lady that definitely has it out for me. i am most definitely 21, which means that i am of the legal drinking age. but this lady... she refuses to sell me alcohol whenever i am trying to buy a bottle of five dollar wine... which i am pretty sure is like...so illegal...
january twenty fifth: today i had to visit the bank. i really truly hate going to the bank. when i go i always feel so judged when they check my account information and see all three of my dollars. after that i went to work and got yelled at by customers that were super upset about not being able to return things they bought from us months ago. do people not see the words in giant bold print at the bottom that say RETURN PERIOD IS 15 DAYS? i swear... i have encountered quite a few adults that talk poorly about millennials and rant about how “disrespectful” we are... but i have never been yelled at by a 21 year old when i tell them they cant make a return. however, i have been screamed at by 45 year old men... quite often actually... one literally yelled “i cannot wait until the day you go out of business” at me... as if i... a 21 year old college student that lives in roseville michigan... that eats ramen noodles for most of my meals...are the CEO of this ginormous corporation.... alright big guy lets take a timeout and think about how we can better handle our anger next time!!
january twenty sixth: i woke up and did a lot of homework again today. i had to do it right away because i had work until 9:30 tonight. the boy i like was not scheduled to work today but to my sweet sweet sweet sweet surprise... he was there... still just as confusing as ever.
there was nothing too excitable at work today. a few unnecessarily angry customers but less than usual. my boss had a one on one meeting with me. nothing bad.
probably need to take a chill pill with the caffeine. lets see how long that lasts this time around.
january twenty seventh: i worked all day again today. we had visitors from corporate this morning. the person that seemed to be in charge of the entire group seemed like a pretty sensible woman... but she was not happy. she was upset about how one part of the office had not been updated to the current standard and the set up was like... from five set ups ago.
looking back on the last few days of entries i have realized how much i complain and how much i write about the things that are wrong and not the things that are right. i swear i am a happy person! i do not know what happens to me when i write these daily entries.
that being said, today i went to work and had a great day. the boy i like bought me candy, as he normally does. cute but still confusing. i have a day off tomorrow so i will probably spend it doing school work (of course) but that is NOT a complaint. i really do love doing my school work.
january twenty eighth: happy monday. the day has not ended but i wanted to write now instead of later because i have plans. ill write about how that goes tomorrow....
i had to talk with an old...friend... today. i know i said i was not going to complain anymore but man it is hard when you are forced to talk with someone that makes you actually want to projectile vomit all over them.
other than that, today has been REALLY GOOD. i drank coffee which should be a failure because i really was trying to not drink caffeine anymore but it is honestly a win because it tastes so good and its so cooooozy and warm. i actually took time to read today which was really nice because i have not been reading since the new semester started. the book was a gift from my therapist. it was written by a *professional adult women*, and it starts off with something along the lines of “you might not believe me, but last week i peed my pants.” the entire book is essentially about how being an adult does not mean you have to always be put together and look put together and be functioning at your full potential everyday because ,as she says, “a mother's list of goals should boil down to 1. take care of the baby and 2. take care of yourself BOOM THE END.” i can see why she assumed this book would apply to me and my problems. i dont hate it.
update: i finished the book. she was right. i really did like it.
